Description
The Common beech 'Tortuosa' (Fagus sylvatica) is a bizarre, overhanging small tree that produces inconspicuous flowers. They appear from April to May. These produce brown fruits from September. The Common beech 'Tortuosa' also has egg-shaped, medium green leaves. Its bark is silver-grey and smooth. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 12 metres and grows to a width of approx. 15 metres.
