Description
With its dark green leaf colouring, Umbrella bamboo 'Lava' (Fargesia murielae) is a decorative design element in the garden. What makes it special, apart from its upright and rounded shape, is that it does not need a rhizome barrier! It prefers sunny to semi-shady locations with well-drained, humus-rich and slightly acidic soil. Under favourable conditions, this hardy bamboo reaches a height of approx. 1.5 m and grows up to 1 m wide.
