Description
The Umbrella bamboo 'Winter Black' (Fargesia murielae) with its medium green leaf colouring and black stems is a decorative design element in the garden. What makes it special, apart from its upright and clump-forming shape, is that it does not need a rhizome barrier! It prefers sunny to semi-shady locations with well-drained and slightly acidic soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy bamboo reaches a height of approx. 3 m and grows up to 1 m wide.
