Description
With its dark green leaf colouring and blue-violet stems, Fountain bamboo 'Black Pearl' (Fargesia nitida) is a decorative design element in the garden. What makes it special, apart from its spreading, dense and clump-forming shape, is that it does not need a rhizome barrier! It prefers semi-shady to shady locations with well-drained, humus-rich, loose and nutrient-rich soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy bamboo reaches a height of approx. 4 m and grows up to 2 m wide.
