Description
The Fountain bamboo 'Volcano' (Fargesia nitida) with its medium green leaf colouring and black-red stems is a decorative design element in the garden. What makes it special, apart from its spreading, dense and clump-forming shape, is that it does not need a rhizome barrier! It prefers semi-shady to shady locations with well-drained, humus-rich, loose and nutrient-rich soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy bamboo reaches a height of approx. 2.5 m and grows up to 2 m wide.
