Description
The Common fig 'Portogallo' (Ficus carica) produces brown, yellow-green, purple fruits. They are pear-shaped or elongated and have a sweet flavour. Well-drained, loamy, slightly acidic soil and a sunny location create ideal conditions for a high-yield harvest from August. Its inconspicuous flowers are a beautiful sight. With its shrub-like growth, the Common fig 'Portogallo' grows to around 4 metres high and 4 metres wide.

- Fruit trees planted in spring must be watered generously throughout the summer. Water twice a day on hot days. Fertilise weekly from June onwards. An irrigation system can make the work easier.
