Description
The Common fig 'Dottato' (Ficus carica) produces green fruits. They are pear-shaped and have a sweet, aromatic flavour. Well-drained, loamy, slightly acidic soil and a sunny location create the ideal conditions for a high-yield harvest from August. Its white flowers are a beautiful sight. With its shrub-like growth, the Common fig 'Dottato' grows to around 4 metres high and 4 metres wide.

Common fig 'Dottato' is a small tree. It usually reaches a height of 3 - 4 m and is approx. 3 - 4 m wide. As a rule, it grows 20 - 40 cm per year.

Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in the meantime.

Preferred location in a sunny position.

Ficus carica 'Dottato' prefers nutrient-rich, sufficiently moist soil.

Planting time
Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).

Care
- Fruit trees planted in spring must be watered generously throughout the summer. Well-rooted plants only require additional water in extremely dry conditions. - This plant also thrives on balconies and terraces. Bright, sheltered locations are ideal. Water twice a day on hot days. Fertilise weekly from June onwards. An irrigation system can make the work easier.
