Description
The Common fig 'Rouge de Bordeaux' (Ficus carica) produces red-brown, medium-sized fruits. They are pear-shaped and have a sweet, aromatic flavour. Well-drained, loamy, slightly acidic soil and a sunny location create the ideal conditions for a high-yield harvest from July. Its inconspicuous flowers are a beautiful sight. With its shrub-like growth, the Common fig 'Rouge de Bordeaux' grows to around 4 metres high and 4 metres wide.

Water twice a day on hot days. Fertilise weekly from June onwards. An irrigation system can make the work easier.
