Description
The Common ash 'Altena' (Fraxinus excelsior) is a large pyramidal tree with decorative winged fruits that remain on the tree for a very long time. The Common ash 'Altena' also has pinnate, medium green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, calcareous, nutrient-rich, moist to wet soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 25 metres and grows to a width of approx. 15 metres.
