Description
The Common ash 'Westhof´s Glorie' (Fraxinus excelsior) is a large, roundish tree that produces yellow-red flowers arranged in panicles. They appear from April to May. These produce brown winged fruits that remain on the tree for a very long time. The Common ash 'Westhof´s Glorie' also has lanceolate, pinnate, medium green leaves. The dark brown shoots are also an interesting sight. Its bark is grey and smooth. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, calcareous, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 30 metres and grows to a width of around 15 metres.
