Description
The Manna ash 'Mecsek' (Fraxinus ornus) is a large, rounded shrub that produces creamy white flowers arranged in panicles with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from May to June. Brown fruits emerge from these from September. They exude a pleasant fragrance. The Manna ash 'Mecsek' also has pinnate, medium green leaves. Its bark is dark grey and smooth. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, calcareous soil, it usually reaches a height of around 6 metres and grows to a width of around 3 metres.
