Description
The Trumpet gentian (Gentiana acaulis) is a dense, flat, cushion-forming, evergreen perennial that produces dark blue, funnel-shaped flowers from May to June. Its lanceolate leaves are medium green. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 10 cm and grows to a width of approx. 20 cm. The Trumpet gentian is well tolerant of frost.
