Description
The Carolina silverbell (Halesia monticola) is a conical, broad, large shrub with decorative, brown winged fruits that stay on for a very long time. It produces white, bell-shaped flowers in May. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained soil, it usually reaches a height of around 12 metres and is around 10 metres wide.
