Description
The Dark-eye sunflower (Helianthus atrorubens) is a bushy, upright perennial that produces golden yellow, basket-shaped flowers from September to October. Its egg-shaped leaves are dark green. In a sunny location with well-drained, nutrient-rich, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 2 m and grows to a width of approx. 70 cm. The Dark-eye sunflower is well tolerant of frost.
