Description
The Lenten rose (Helleborus orientalis) is an upright, winter-green perennial that produces purple-red, cup-shaped flowers from December to January. Its palmate leaves are dark green. In a sunny to shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 45 cm and is approx. 45 cm wide. The Lenten rose is well tolerant of frost.
