Description
With its medium green leaves, Water violet (Hottonia palustris) is an extremely decorative aquatic plant that is particularly suitable for areas such as pond edges and ponds. White-pink coloured flowers appear from May to July. It prefers humus-rich, lime-free, nutrient-rich, moist to wet soil in a sunny to semi-shady position. The Water violet is well tolerant of frost. The flat, creeping plant usually reaches a height of approx. 20 cm.
