Description
The Common hydrangea 'Blue Danube' (Hydrangea macrophylla) is a bushy, upright small shrub that produces blue, cupped flowers arranged in umbels. They appear from June to September. In a semi-shady to shady location with humus-rich, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 m and is approx. 1.5 m wide.

The plant needs plenty of water. Do not allow the soil to dry out.

Preferred location in semi-shady to shady position.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).

Care
- Remove old inflorescences and dry wood in spring. - This plant should only be watered with lime-free water. Rainwater is particularly suitable for this purpose. - Over the years, blue-flowering hydrangeas will often only produce pink flowers. To prevent this, 'Hydrangea Blue' can be used to help. It contains the aluminium responsible for the blue colouring.
