Description
The Stinking iris (Iris foetidissima) is an upright, clump-forming, winter-green perennial that produces purple-coloured flowers from July to August. Decorative, orange-red fruits develop from the flowers in September. Its linear leaves are dark green. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, loose soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 60 cm and is approx. 30 cm wide. The Stinking iris is well tolerant of frost.
