Description
The Sweetspire (Itea virginica) is a spreading, overhanging small shrub that produces white flowers arranged in catkins with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from May to July. The Sweetspire also has lanceolate, medium green leaves. In a sunny location with humus-free, lime-free, acidic, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 m and grows to approx. 1.5 m wide.
