Description
The Butternut (Juglans cinerea) is an upright tree that produces red flowers. They appear in June. These produce brown fruits from September. The Butternut also has pinnate, medium green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, calcareous soil, it usually reaches a height of around 20 metres and grows to a width of around 7 metres.
