The Traubenheide 'Firestar' (Leucothoe axillaris) is a bushy, dense, evergreen dwarf shrub with decorative, glossy, lanceolate, multi-coloured leaves. It also bears white, bell-shaped flowers arranged in clusters from May to June. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humus-rich, acidic, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 40 cm and grows to a width of approx. 80 cm.
