Description
The Gayfeather (Liatris spicata) is an upright, clump-forming perennial that produces purple flowers arranged in spikes from July to August. Its linear leaves are medium green. In a sunny location with well-drained, humus-rich, loose, nutrient-rich soil, it usually grows to a height of approx. 80 cm and is approx. 30 cm wide. The Gayfeather is well tolerant of frost.
