Description
The Fly honeysuckle (Lonicera xylosteum) is an upright, branched shrub with decorative, dark red, round fruits. These exude a pleasant fragrance. It produces creamy white, lip-shaped flowers from May to June. The Fly honeysuckle also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to shady location with well-drained, calcareous, nutrient-rich, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and grows to around 3 metres wide.
