Description
The Loropetalum 'Ruby Snow'® (Loropetalum chinense) is a bushy, dense, compact, evergreen garden plant with decorative, broadly lanceolate, green-red leaves. It also bears white flowers from December to April. With the right care, the Loropetalum 'Ruby Snow'® will flower again from May to June. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 70 cm and grows approx. 40 cm wide.

Leaves
High leaf ornamental value. The evergreen leaves of the Loropetalum 'Ruby Snow'® are green-red, broadly lanceolate.

Frost hardiness
Winter protection is required in unprotected areas of the garden. Potted plants are best overwintered in a frost-free, bright place.

Growth
Loropetalum 'Ruby Snow'® is bushy, dense and compact in structure. It usually grows 10 - 25 cm per year.

Water
The plant needs plenty of water. Do not allow the soil to dry out.

Location
Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

Soil
Standard container plant soil. Normal soil.

Planting time
Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the ground is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).

Care
- Over time, the soil loses some important properties. The plants should therefore be transplanted every two years in spring into a larger pot with fresh container plant soil. - A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time.

Flower
The white flowers appear from December to April. These are pleasantly fragrant. With the right care, re-flowering from May to June.
