Description
The Amur Maackia (Maackia amurensis) is a large, multi-stemmed, umbrella-shaped shrub with decorative, brown-yellow, flat fruits. It produces creamy white, butterfly-shaped flowers arranged in panicles from July to August. The Amur Maackia also has pinnate, light green leaves. The silvery shoots are also an interesting sight. In a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 8 metres and grows to around 6 metres wide.
