Description
The Bigleaf cucumber tree (Magnolia macrophylla) is an upright, roundish tree that produces green-white flowers with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from May to June. The Bigleaf cucumber tree also has egg-shaped, medium-green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, lime-free, loose, nutrient-rich, sandy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 15 metres and grows to a width of around 15 metres.
