Description
The French marigold (Tagetes patula) is a popular, easy-care plant for the balcony that produces countless yellow, orange or red, slightly fragrant flowers throughout the season. The dark green leaves are pinnate. A sunny to semi-shady location and a well-drained substrate are preferred.

Care
- Regular watering in summer is particularly important. Morning or evening is the best time for this. Watering should also be done slowly and, if possible, not over flowers and leaves. - A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time.

Flower
The yellow, orange and red flowers appear from May to November. They grow to around 5 cm and are slightly fragrant.
