Description
The Bergamot 'Purple' (Monarda didyma) is an upright, compact perennial that produces purple-red, basket-shaped flowers with a pleasant fragrance from July to September. Its egg-shaped, lanceolate, toothed leaves are green-red in colour. In a sunny to semi-shady location with sandy, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 30 cm and is approx. 25 cm wide. The Bergamot 'Purple' is well tolerant of frost.
