Description
Wild bergamot 'Mahagoni' (Monarda fistulosa) is an upright, branched perennial that produces purplish-red, lip-shaped flowers arranged in whorls from July to September, which have a pleasant fragrance. Its lanceolate leaves are medium green. In a sunny position with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of about 1 m and spreads to about 50 cm. Wild bergamot 'Mahagoni' is quite hardy.
