Description
The Heavenly bamboo 'Pygmaea' (Nandina domestica) is a compact garden plant with decorative, red fruits. It produces white flowers from July to August. The Heavenly bamboo 'Pygmaea' also has lanceolate, medium green leaves. The copper-orange shoots are also an interesting sight. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, lime-free, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 metres and grows to a width of approx. 1.2 metres.

This enables the plant to survive dry periods better.

The white flowers appear from July to August.

Fruit
The red fruits of Nandina domestica 'Pygmaea' are particularly decorative. These appear from October.
