Description
The Kapuzinerkresse 'Empress of India' (Tropaeolum majus) is a popular plant for the balcony that produces countless scarlet flowers throughout the season. The dark green leaves are roundish. It prefers a sunny to semi-shady position and a well-drained substrate. With its creeping or climbing habit, Kapuzinerkresse 'Empress of India' is particularly suitable for hanging baskets and hanging baskets.

Care
- Regular watering in summer is particularly important. Morning or evening is the best time for this. Watering should also be done slowly and, if possible, not over the flowers and leaves. - Excess water must be able to drain away easily and waterlogging should be avoided at all costs. - Withered and yellow leaves must be plucked out regularly and old branches cut out. This encourages the growth of new flowers. - Many bedding and balcony plants have a high to very high nutrient requirement. For this reason, slow-release fertiliser should be mixed into the potting soil when planting. After 4-6 weeks, top up with liquid fertiliser regularly.

Flower
Suitable for consumption. The scarlet-red, cupped flowers appear from July to October.
