Description
The Sweet osmanthus (Osmanthus fragrans) is a spreading, broad, large shrub with decorative, black-blue, oval fruits. These exude a strong fragrance. It produces white flowers from September to October. The Sweet osmanthus also has glossy, leathery, lanceolate, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 5 metres and grows to a width of around 5 metres.
