Description
The Holly olive 'Purpureus' (Osmanthus heterophyllus) is an upright, roundish, dense shrub that produces white flowers with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from September to October. These produce black, oval fruits. They exude a pleasant fragrance. The Holly olive 'Purpureus' also has shiny, egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 2 metres and grows to around 2 metres wide.

Leaves
