Description
The Moutan (Paeonia x suffruticosa) is an upright, loose small shrub that produces pink, white or red flowers with a light fragrance. They appear from May to June. The Moutan also has pinnate, medium green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 2 metres and grows to around 2 metres wide.

This enables the plant to survive dry periods better.

The pink, white and red flowers appear from May to June. They grow to around 20 - 30 cm tall and are slightly fragrant.
