Description
With its fresh green, bronze-red striped leaf colouring, Neuseelandflachs 'Surfer' (Phormium cookianum) is a decorative design element in the garden, which also adorns pots on balconies or terraces thanks to its clump-forming growth. The yellow flower plumes adorn this grass from summer onwards. It feels most at home in a sunny location with the most well-drained, loose soil possible. In favourable conditions, this hardy grass reaches a height of approx. 1 m and grows up to 80 cm wide.

As soon as temperatures no longer fall below 5°C, even at night, this plant can be taken outside. A shower with lukewarm water will remove dust and revitalise your favourite. A semi-shady spot without direct sunlight is best to prevent leaf damage. If necessary, the plant can also be repotted outdoors in spring, which saves cleaning work indoors.

Flower
The yellow, funnel-shaped flowers appear from July to August.
