Description
The New Zealand flax 'Purpureum' (Phormium tenax) is a very popular evergreen container plant. The dark red leaves are linear. The location should be as sunny to semi-shady as possible. A well-drained and humus-rich soil is ideal. Under favourable conditions, the New Zealand flax 'Purpureum' reaches a height of approx. 2.5 m and grows up to 2 m wide.

To do this, the pot can be wrapped with fleece, coconut or straw mats, jute or bubble wrap. Evergreen plants also need to be watered on frost-free winter days.
