Description
With its yellow-green leaves, Common reed 'Variegatus' (Phragmites australis) is a highly decorative aquatic plant that is particularly suitable for areas such as privacy screens, pond edges, streams and ponds. Red-brown flowers appear from July to September. It prefers nutrient-rich, loamy, moist to wet soil in a sunny to semi-shady position. The Common reed 'Variegatus' is well tolerant of frost. The upright plant usually reaches a height of approx. 1 metre.
