Description
The Oriental spruce 'Aureospicata' (Picea orientalis) is a small tree that grows loosely in a conical shape and usually reaches a height of around 12 metres and a width of around 5.5 metres. Its needle-shaped leaves have a medium green colour. This shrub is well tolerant of frost and prefers well-drained, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny to semi-shady position.

- This plant is susceptible to snow pressure. In snowy regions, it is therefore advisable to wrap the branches with string. Otherwise, they may split apart and not fully recover. When the snow season is over, the twine must of course be removed.
- In spring, a slow-release fertiliser can be used. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time.
