Description
The Japanese andromeda 'Carnaval' (Pieris japonica) is a bushy, compact, evergreen small shrub with decorative, glossy, lanceolate, dark green leaves with a creamy white margin. The red shoots are also an interesting sight. It also bears white flowers arranged in panicles from March to April. Light brown, round fruits emerge from these from September. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 1 metre and grows to around 1 metre wide.
