Description
The Japanese andromeda 'Little Heath' (Pieris japonica) is a bushy, broad, evergreen small shrub with decorative, glossy, lanceolate, dark green leaves with a white margin. The pink-red shoots are also an interesting sight. It also bears white, cup-shaped flowers arranged in panicles from April to May. These produce light brown, round fruits from August. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 1 metre and grows to around 1 metre wide.
