Description
The Japanese andromeda 'Sarabande' (Pieris japonica) is a broad, compact small shrub that produces white flowers arranged in panicles. They appear from mid-March to mid-April. These produce light brown, round fruits from August. The Japanese andromeda 'Sarabande' also bears shiny, lanceolate, medium-green leaves. The salmon-orange shoots are also an interesting sight. Its bark is reddish-brown and fissured in strips. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.2 m and grows to approx. 1.5 m wide.
