Description
The Japanese andromeda 'Temple Bells' (Pieris japonica) is a bushy, broad, evergreen shrub with decorative, glossy, lanceolate, dark green leaves. The red shoots are also an interesting sight. It also bears white flowers arranged in panicles from March to May. These produce light brown, round fruits from August. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.8 metres and grows to a width of approx. 1.8 metres.
