Description
The Japanese andromeda 'Valley Rose' (Pieris japonica) is a bushy, broad shrub that produces light pink-coloured flowers arranged in panicles. They appear in March. These produce light brown, round fruits from August. The Japanese andromeda 'Valley Rose' also bears shiny, lanceolate, dark green leaves. Its bark is reddish-brown and fissured in strips. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 metres and grows to a width of approx. 1.5 metres.
