Description
The Japanese andromeda 'Valley Valentine' (Pieris japonica) is a bushy, broad small shrub that produces red flowers arranged in panicles. They appear from mid-March to mid-April. The Japanese andromeda 'Valley Valentine' also has shiny, lanceolate, dark green leaves. Its bark is reddish-brown and fissured in strips. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 m and grows to approx. 1.3 m wide.
