Description
The Japanese andromeda 'Variegata' (Pieris japonica) is a broad, squat, evergreen small shrub with decorative, glossy, lanceolate, dark green leaves with a white margin. It also bears white flowers arranged in panicles from March to May. These produce light brown, round fruits from August. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1 m and grows to a width of approx. 1.2 m.
