Description
The Japanese bitter orange (Poncirus trifoliata) is an upright, branched shrub with decorative, yellow, round fruits. These exude a pleasant fragrance. It produces white flowers from the beginning of May to the end of May. The Japanese bitter orange also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, lime-free soil, it usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and grows to around 3 metres wide.
