Description
The Grey poplar (Populus canescens) is a spreading, broad, large tree that produces greenish-yellow flowers arranged in catkins. They appear from March to April. These produce white fruits. The Grey poplar also has triangular, dark green leaves. Its bark is grey and smooth. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, calcareous soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 25 metres and grows to a width of approx. 25 metres.
