Description
The China poplar (Populus lasiocarpa) is a broad, ovoid small tree that produces greenish-yellow flowers arranged in catkins. They appear from April to May. These produce white fruits. The China poplar also has heart-shaped, dark green leaves. Its bark is grey, scaly and longitudinally furrowed. In a sunny location with nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 20 metres and grows to a width of around 15 metres.
