Description
The Sargent's cherry (Prunus sargentii) is a spreading, funnel-shaped, picturesque small tree that produces pink, cup-shaped flowers. They appear in April. These produce purple-red, oval fruits from August. The Sargent's cherry also has egg-shaped, medium-green leaves. The bronze-coloured shoots are also an interesting sight. Its bark is a glossy red-brown colour. In a sunny, sheltered location with nutrient-rich, sandy, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 12 metres and grows to a width of around 8 metres.

Leaves
