Description
The Japanese cherry 'Kanzan' (Prunus serrulata) is an upright, funnel-shaped small tree that produces pink, cup-shaped flowers. They appear in May. The Japanese cherry 'Kanzan' also has shiny, egg-shaped, dark green leaves. The bronze-coloured shoots are also an interesting sight. Its bark is reddish-brown and fissured in strips. In a sunny location with calcareous, loose soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 10 metres and grows to a width of approx. 8 metres.
